Sounding Out The City
Where the sounds are "light on the attitude, heavy on the beat." You'll hear rare grooves, hard jazz, heavy funk, broken beats, library grooves, house, deep soul, Latin flavours, Brazilian vibes, left-field hiphop, rock, drum n bass, afro-beats--all these sounds and more, hand picked and blended fresh into 30-minute mixes, Wednesdays at noon.

Welcome to another episode of Sounding Out The City...
Wow...it has been very difficult lately to maintain the pace of putting out a new podcast every week, so thank you for your patience.
This week, we get into some soulful funk with the Soul Severes and Dennis Mobley, then pick up the tempo with some party tracks from Dr. Delay, and the bboy staple, Yellow Sunshine.
We then get into a rare latin groove for the breakers before bringing it all back to the present with Soopasoul's breaks-heavy jaunt called "A Wild Mad Beat".
After that, Domu remixes Broke N English's "Take It Low" for a fiery track that will burn dancefloors all over West London. Then M2J brings some dubstep/bruk beat combo with "2001" to keep things going just before a twisted disco edit of a Santogold track gets you all frantic and sweaty again.
We finish up with some unexpectedness...a blazing Cavril Payne soulful track from the late 60s for the open-minded music lover...
Enjoy.

Driftwood
I started out making mixes for myself to listen to during drives and subway rides. Somewhere along the way, I thought other people might enjoy the music in the mixes as much as I do, so I began posting them.
My wish is simply to share what I consider to be really good yet seldom heard music with others.
You'll hear 30 minute mixes that incorporate rare grooves from the past along with the modern sounds of today, and a dash of various flavours--from latin jazz, to disco, to classic rock, to sample-based beat oriented styles and beyond.
Please leave a comment if you like what you are hearing and share this podcast with others.
