Welcome to another episode of Sounding Out The City...
We start off with some beautiful jazz comped on the Dusty Fingers series from the legendary Art Farmer before moving onto a couple jazz tracks from 2008 by Carlos Nino and Kira Neris. A touch of dubstep gets mixed into the pot before we catch a new joint from Cali’s own Flying Lotus.
Next, it’s DJ Me DJ You with their brand of bizarro hiphop, and then it’s onto more new music, this time from Ireland’s BDI on Scribble records and a track called “Cherry Cherry Cherry”, which makes good use of a French Library sample.
It’s house music after that with Super Collider, Young Lovers, a classic from Joey Beltram, and something new-ish from the Sunburst Band A.K.A. house music legend Joey Negro.
Tom Central is next with a re-edited latin groover before some proper hiphop instrumentals from Ugly Duckling and Buck 65 are heard. It all comes to a close with the UK’s DJ Maniphest and his track “Restored Faith”.
Enjoy!

I started out making mixes for myself to listen to during drives and subway rides. Somewhere along the way, I thought other people might enjoy the music in the mixes as much as I do, so I began posting them.
My wish is simply to share what I consider to be really good yet seldom heard music with others.
You'll hear 30 minute mixes that incorporate rare grooves from the past along with the modern sounds of today, and a dash of various flavours--from latin jazz, to disco, to classic rock, to sample-based beat oriented styles and beyond.
