Welcome to another episode of Sounding Out The City...
This week we start off with some rare Australian funkrock, a Spanky Wilson classic, and a breaks-filled groover by Lou Garno.
We then get into a new Bamboos joint featuring Alice Russell, followed by a Brazilian funk monster with some gonzo vocals.
Arlene Bell brings back the classic soul funk sound and Canada's own Ellen McIlwaine follows up with a wicked folk funk version of "Toe Hold"
We then get into some "Dusty Fingers" territory with "Drummer Man" before going on a broken beat excursion with "What You Want".
The Bamboos are back again with a funky version of Afronaught's classic "Transcsend Me" before some DJ Day productions give us a hint at the future of hiphop.
A curious B-version of Soho's "Hot Music" comes next, then we close it out with a deadly funky nubreaks stormer by Ze Mateo.

I started out making mixes for myself to listen to during drives and subway rides. Somewhere along the way, I thought other people might enjoy the music in the mixes as much as I do, so I began posting them.
My wish is simply to share what I consider to be really good yet seldom heard music with others.
You'll hear 30 minute mixes that incorporate rare grooves from the past along with the modern sounds of today, and a dash of various flavours--from latin jazz, to disco, to classic rock, to sample-based beat oriented styles and beyond.
Please leave a comment if you like what you are hearing and share this podcast with others.
